The Green Party is the fastest growing party in Canada. In the 2008 general election, nearly a million voters voted Green and 273,545 Canadians just like you decided to vote Green for the first time.
The Green Party of Canada was the only party in the election to gain votes and current polls are showing the Greens will win seats in British Columbia in the next election. In contrast the ruling Conservative party lost 165,002 votes. The Conservatives were not alone, increasingly, Canadians from all political stripes are searching for a political party that represents them and they are turning Green, because it is the party of the future.
Ottawa is more partisan than ever before. There was a time when our MP’s worked with each other, consulted with each other and sought common ground. That time has passed. The Green Party of Canada offers an escape from partisanship, and an opportunity to find the best solutions not just the right or the left ones.
The Green Party of Canada offers Canadians a balanced option. Founded on environmental values, Greens recognize the connection between a healthy, functioning planet and a healthy, functioning society and economy. While industry and Canada’s other political party’s scramble to incorporate the triple-bottom-line, the Green Party of Canada was built on these principles.
The Green Party of Canada is not a one-issue party, but the environment comes first! Why shouldn’t it? Currently planet Earth is all we have so our decision and policy-making must reflect its well being. From there we work to build a healthy, safe society and a wealthy, sustainable economy.
